Breast Health Phone-a-thon Caller

 

Summary Description

YWCA Boston is committed to eliminating health disparities in Greater Boston. Providing high quality health education and referrals to critical health screenings are core components of our work. Breast Health Phone-a-thon callers will assist YWCA Boston in reaching women to encourage and support their self-care.  

Volunteers are supported by professional YWCA Boston staff and will receive training prior to participating in a Phone-a-Thon. Phone-a-Thons occur approximately 3 times per year in the evenings. Volunteers can participate in 1 or more per year.  

Qualifications

Strong communication skills

 Basic knowledge of preventative breast health is helpful

Ability to work independently

Demonstrated ability to successfully work in an environment with economic, racial, ethnic and gender diversity.

Enthusiasm, positive sense of humor and can do attitude.

Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Call women to determine their breast health status and offer support

Complete all related paperwork and reporting

Represent YWCA Boston in a professional manner
