Women's Leadership Event |
The YWCA Boston, the first YWCA in the country, is recognized for its success in addressing issues of racism and gender bias. The YWCA's strength is in remaining responsive to the changing needs of women and their families in Boston through ongoing advocacy efforts and innovative programs and services. The YWCA Boston provides safe and affordable short-term and permanent housing for low-income and disabled women, transitional housing for teen parents, support services for grandfamilies living at the nation's first GrandFamilies House in Dorchester, breast and cervical health education and screening services for low-income and immigrant women, youth development projects, and leadership recognition programs. Join us in our 140th anniversary celebrations throughout 2006!
